Obituary

Donald Kenneth Holloway was born on June 10th, 1968, in Camden, NJ to his parents Hester Holloway and the late Rufus Wilson. Donald was raised and spent his childhood alongside, his nine siblings in Camden, NJ. He was the 10th child.  He enjoyed many summers at The Children Seashore House for rehabilitation regarding his disability to walk. The Children Seashore House’s motto was, “Getting better by the beach” and Donald loved his summer stays there where he met many new friends.  Donald was an honored participant in the Special Olympics, where he received many accolades and awards. He received a gold and bronze medal for wheelchair basketball and wheelchair racing. He was educated in the Camden School System. Donald was the first wheelchair student and became a proud graduate of the class of 1989 from Woodrow Wilson High School. He attended a year at Camden County Community College, where he studied computer science.

At Donald’s passing he was employed by Abilities Solutions, Westville NJ. For 30 plus years. Everyone knew Donald, he was pure in heart, gentle, a bit quiet at times yet a social butterfly at Riverview Towers, Camden NJ where he resided for 28 plus years. To know Donald was to love him. When he was not at work Donald enjoy his television shows! If he was not watching sports between the hours of 11am and 1:30pm you could find him watching his favorite TV shows Let's make a Deal, Price is Right and Young and The Restless just like his granny used to. Donald was a huge Dallas Cowboy’s fan. He also loved his music. He would go to sleep at night listening to the ocean sounds and wake up listening to old school R&B, hip hop, rap and of course his favorite gospel music. His daily motivation started with asking Alexa to play Marvin Sapp's Never Would Have Made It.

Donald had an amazing gift with numbers. He knew everyone’s address, phone number, every anniversary and birthday. He took so much pride in calling you on your birthday or anniversary to wish you well. He cherished all his family as he and his mother had a standing Wednesday call date with his mom as he would call her to check on her. He also would call to his sister Patsy and brother-in-law Buff every Sunday to bust it up about football. Donald was quite loquacious too. When he got you on the phone he would just talk, talk, talk and before you know it, he would be hanging up the phone, saying… alright… yup… I'm okay bye…(CLICK) lol

Donald proceeds to death. His grandmother, Dorothy Hill, father Rufus Wilson, brother Rufus, sister Ester Wilson and nephew Antonio Wilson. He leaves behind to celebrate his life his mother Hester Holloway, siblings Mitzi (Duane) McDowell, David Hill, Nadine (Robert) Buffalo, Joseph Wilson, Patricia Wilson, Sharon Wilson, Mark (Michelle), a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Special friends Maggie, Mike, and Joe.

With grateful hearts and an abundance of gratitude, the family thank you for all your prayers, love, and continued support.
