Cordell Brown

August 14, 1954 — February 1, 2022

On Tuesday, February 1, 2022, by the grace of God and his infinite mercy, Cordell (Jimmy) Brown transitioned peacefully to rest with our Lord and Savior.

Jimmy the son of John Taylor and Hazel Everette was born August 14, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA.

He completed his education at South Philadelphia High School and attended Philadelphia Community College.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed cross country running,  listening to all types of music including Santana, Jimi Hendrix and The Temptations, and fishing. He loved to discuss history as it was a very interesting subject and having “Rock Sessions'' with his daughter.  One of his favorite lines to say was (Whatever it is, I don’t have a problem with that).

Jimmy worked as a computer operator for John Wanamaker and retired from Curtis Publisher Company after working 20 years.

He met the love of his life Delores Brown in 1974. Two years later they married and moved to Camden New Jersey where they started an amazing union that was 46 years strong. During their union they welcomed  into the world their daughter Dominique (aka Pook). He was an outstanding  provider and protector. There was nothing he would not do for his family and friends.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother: Kenneth “Bucky” and sisters: Diane, Lorraine, and Brenda.

Jimmy leaves to cherish his precious memories, a devoted wife for over 46 years Delores Brown, Daughter Dominique Brown (a.k.a Pook), Son, Cory Bained, 6 sisters: Joanna and Val Taylor, Charmaine White, Carmilla Brown (William), Lorraine Dorsey (Roosevelt) and Nadine Haines (Darrell), 3 brothers: John Taylor, Jr., Gregory and Myron Everette, two grandchildren; Nyjae & Jermaine (Spanky/Man-man), two godchildren, Lamel, Jr. & LaTyra, special sisters-n-laws; Lola Ragin, Debbie McCoy, special brother-n -law; Lamel Reynolds; special aunt; Priscilla Thompson and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
