Sherron Jennings

Sherron Ernest Jennings was born on March 4, 1973 at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey to his parents Robert ‘Rocky’ Bluford and Diane Jennings. Sherron was lovingly known as ‘Rock J’. He departed this life on May 10, 2023.

Sherron received his formal education in the Glassboro Public School System. As a student, Sherron had a sharp mind and a sharp mouth too and could grasp details and recall information quickly. He was very proficient at spelling and truly demonstrated his intelligence with his ability to learn the names of animals. So it’s no wonder that Sherron’s favorite past time was watching the “Animal Channel” on television. He knew all the names of the animals as well as their living and eating habits. But his love of attaining knowledge didn’t stop with animals, because Sherron went on to memorize facts about the lifestyles of the rich and famous. He even knew the net worth of all celebrities. Don’t try to debate him on any of these facts because he would argue you down and you would lose every time!

Sherron was a handworker at his places of employment. He fulfilled his responsibilities the times he was employed. Sherron was a great house cleaner, and he could out clean any woman. He was fun loving, easy going and he had a knack for making people laugh.

During the time of Sherron’s long illness, his devoted mother Diane never left his side. For a year and a half, Sherron resided in his home, surrounded by his loving, caring, family until his health failed beyond Diane’s ability to care for him. Sherron was a fighter with a strong will and determination to survive. Despite his illness, Sherron still continued to greet everyone by name with a bright smile and that same energy that was uniquely his own.  His face and his smile could brighten up any room and he was always happy to see you.

Sherron leaves to cherish his memory his father Robert Bluford, his mother Diane Jennings; one daughter Amoni Jennings; one grandchild Aria; grandparents Nathaniel and Doris Thomas; eleven (11) brothers Robert Jennings (aka Squeeze), Keith Taqi (Elizabeth) Brooks, Alfred Cutler Jr. (aka R.K.), Jonathan Sutton, III, (aka Johnny), Jayvion Brooks, Rocky, Wade, Randy,  Rondell Bluford, Gregory Mcleod and William Rowe (aka Weasel); six (6) sisters Desiree Shantae (Tyrell) Robinson, Lamira Brooks, Janelle Sutton, Samirah Brooks, Roxanne, and Robin Bluford; Arthur Miles (aka Fuzzy) who grew up with him like a brother and Nadine Willis like a sister; two (2) god-sisters Shekiya Wright and Natoria Wright; Alfred Cutler Sr. who was like a 2^nd father; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Sherron will be sorely missed.

Preceded him in death were his maternal grandparents Joe Braxton and Anna Mae Brooks Braxton and  his paternal grandparents Frank and Betty Bluford
