Rodney Irving Taylor

Rodney Irving Taylor was born on Feb 3 1955 in Camden NJ to the late Joseph and Dorothy Taylor. 

He was educated in the Camden city school district. He worked various jobs such as paper boy & Campbells soup. He joined the Marine Corps in 1973 where he proudly served during the Vietnam war and traveled to other countries. He was honorably discharged in 1975.

Rodney loved painting, and fishing. He loved family gatherings, dancing and playing cards. He played the saxophone as a child.. He loved cooking crabs for everyone, eating, and most of all making everyone laugh. Rodney was very genuine and authentic. 

Rodney relocated to NC for a short period of time, but due to feeling home sick and missing his loved ones he came back to NJ to stay with his sister. He especially loved hanging out with his siblings, nieces and god sons. 

He left this earth on March 11th 2023 after strongly fighting his battle of cancer. 

Rodney was everyone’s favorite person 

He is preceded in death by his mother and father Joseph and Dorothy Taylor, brothers Nicholas Taylor and Vincent Taylor and brother in law Addison Jenkins. 

He leaves to cherish his siblings Dorothy (Precious) Jenkins, Charlotte (Angel) Taylor, Raymond (Bunny) Morris (Mable), Joseph Taylor Jr, Emmett Taylor, Theodore Taylor (Angela), Sister in laws: Terry, Basi, Darlene.  His best friend Fred Chandler, God kids Robert, Jeremy, Chris, & Charles Robinson. Host of nephews, nieces, cousins, & friends.
