Richard Henry Carter was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He grew up in Pleasantville, New Jersey, where he took care of his mother Mary Elizabeth Woodall-Carter.
He worked ever since the age of twelve (12) years old. He started his cooking career assisting the Head Chef in a restaurant in Atlantic City. He later became Head Chef at Seaview Country Club, now known as the Marriot. He enjoyed playing pool, watching boxing and playing the lottery. He loved buying scratch off tickets and playing his numbers. He was last employed at Ocean Club Condominium and worked as a valet until he retired.
He leaves behind his daughter Cherise Carter, his son Rashon White; his brother Jerome Jackson; his grandson Nazir White; his granddaughter Maiya White; and his great-granddaughter Valida White and many other family and friends.
