Mattie B. Moore was born on March 16, 1952, in Camden, NJ., to Samuel and Matilda Moore. Mattie was named after her maternal grandmother, Mattie Hollman Brown, known affectionately as "Mom Mattie".
Mattie grew up on Spruce Street in Camden. This was a vibrant neighborhood where she developed and maintained many friendships. She was educated in the Camden Public Schools -graduating from "The High" - Camden High School.
The Camden School District was where Mattie spent most of her working years. She worked in the food department, where she was able to share her love for cooking.
Mattie's life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:23 - "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God forgave you in Christ." She attended Nazarene Baptist Church until her illness would no longer permit her.
Beside her daughter, Geneen - the apple of Mattie's eye was her grandson, Quatay. Gmom, as she was called by Quatay was the epitome of a grandmother. Gmom fixed his favorite foods, took him on trips and attended school activities.
Mattie was predeceased by brother, Ralph and sister, Joyce, Grandson Quatay.
Mattie is survived by a dedicated and loving daughter, Geneen., her sisters, Aisha, Fatima, and Rebecca; brother-in-law, Mike; sister-in-law, Beverly; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mattie's laughter and good nature will be missed by all.
