Joel Fogelsanger

June 23, 1958 — July 9, 2023

Glasbboro

When asking his family friends when they will most remember about Joel, overwhelmingly everyone said the same thing. Joel was a kind and gentle guy, and never said a cross or judgmental word about anyone. He was honest and kindhearted, accepting, and genuine. He loved old television shows, and as a child loved to save old TV guides.

Joel was born in Philadelphia in 1958, to Melvin and Beryl Fogelsanger. He was their 4th child, and their 4th boy. He graduated from Point Park University in 1980. He worked at the San Francisco Chronicle for many years in their advertising department. He is preceded in death by his loving partner, Lou DiDomenico. Joel and Lou were happy together for over 25 years before Lou’s death in 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and all of his siblings, David, Alan and Michael, and one nephew, Christopher.

Joel is survived by one aunt, Elaine, of Los Angeles CA, by many cousins, especially Holly, of Los Angeles CA, and many nieces and nephews. Joy Sauter and William Fogelsanger of Seattle WA, Theodore Fogelsanger of Los Angeles CA, Jeffrey, Andrew, and Crystal Fogelsanger and Kimberly Lowe, all of TN. He also had many loving in-laws and great-great nieces and nephews. He also had many friends who stood in for family in the last few years.
