James Cummins

–

Paradise, Pennsylvania

James Joseph Cummins, known affectionately to all as Jim, passed away on May 1, 2026, leaving a legacy of love, resilience, and laughter. Born on October 9, 1950, in Darby, Pennsylvania, Jim possessed a zest for life that was contagious. He was a dedicated individual with a heart full of love for his family, friends, and community. Jim made the world a brighter, funnier place and his absence will be deeply felt.

Jim was a generous man who spent his working years as a dedicated splicer for Verizon, retiring in 2001. True to his resilient spirit, retirement for him was an opportunity to delve deeper into his passions. He relocated to his home away from home, Green Holly Campground in Cape May Courthouse, and later to Paradise, PA, where he spent the last 15 years. Jim found immense joy in the simple things in life such as fishing, hunting, and gardening. He took great pride in planting his garden and eagerly anticipated watching everything grow throughout the summer. His laughter and witty jokes made every fishing trip and garden harvest an unforgettable memory.

What mattered most to Jim were his grandkids Andy Jr, Karalyn, Reese, and Wyatt. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and cherished their heartwarming stories. His daughters, Melissa Brooks (Andy Brooks) and Kimberly Mengel (Kevin Mengel), will miss their dedicated, funny, and generous father immensely. Jim is also survived by his loving grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Cummins and his parents, Joseph and Catherine Cummins. In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."

We invite you to leave your memories and upload photos of Jim on the memorial page. His life was a testament to the power of resilience, love, and laughter, and we are comforted by the memories we shared with him. Let us celebrate Jim's life and honor his spirit by remembering the joy, laughter, and love he brought into our lives.
