Evangelist Doris Ann Downey-Pritchett (Doris Ann), daughter of the late Ernest Bryson Downey and Sarah Holman-Downey, was born on January 22, 1953. God in his merciful wisdom called Doris Ann home to her eternal rest on May 25,2023.
Doris Ann was one of 5 siblings and was raised by her aunt Nannie Downey where she lived and attended school in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, PA, continuing her education in the Philadelphia school district.
Doris Ann came back to Camden, NJ in the early 70's where she joined Victory Baptist Church in the early 80s and was later ordained as a deaconess. Doris worked various jobs. She worked as a Community School Coordinator in the Camden City School District, Food Representative for Quality Foods, and became self-employed, received her administrative license and kept the family business Downey-Pritchett Personal Care Home running where she took care of 13 mentally challenged men. She mastered getting her CDL’s where then she became a bus driver for many different companies throughout the years. She also received her Evangelism License from Mel Floyd School of Evangelism, Philadelphia, PA back in 2017. Out of all her accomplishments she was a faithful member of the Victory Baptist Church. Doris Ann was a jack of many trades; She had a passion for taking care of others, she would open her door to any and everyone and would take in anyone that needed help. She did all of this while raising her own children, grandchildren, and a host of foster children. There was nothing this woman could not and did not do! She was a family-oriented person who loved the Lord. Doris Ann was a part of many clubs and church groups such as The Red Hatters Club, she received the Daisy B Award, Old Fashion Gospel Ensemble, Joel Adams & Company and Breath of Life Ministry just to name a few.
She was our Wonder Woman.
She proceeds in her death her loving husband Allen C Pritchett Jr.(Toboo), her spiritual mother; Martha Hudson; her sisters Evelyn Thomas and Sadie Greene, her son Allan Rochon (Boo).
She leaves to cherish her fond memory her children; Lynette (Terry) Hall, Renilda Rochon, Tonya Walker, Dawn (Allan) Wilson, Michael (Nyshea) Pritchett, Vivian Rochon: Mulanga Rochon, Tiffany Pritchett, Allen C Pritchett ll. and her baby girl Alexis Pritchett. 2 sisters; Shirley Gregory and Audrey Davis, her baby brother Ernest Downey Jr. (Junnie); 32 grandchildren, special niece & nephews; Nina, Joseph and Akeem Smith. God daughter’s ; Nicole Garrett & Lateesha Greene 1 sister In law, Jean Downey special friends, Diana Wynn, Emma Goode-Turner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
