Constance Elizabeth Coleman affectionately known as “Connie” was born February 17, 1941 in Camden, New Jersey to the late Robert Louis Coleman and Emma Frances Coleman. After battling with cancer and issues with her heart, the Lord called her home to be with Him on August 20, 2021.
Constance E. Coleman attended the Camden City School district. She worked as a butcher for 30 years at Quality Foods in Camden, New Jersey. She also worked for the Camden City School System as a Lunch Food Service worker and retired from J&J Snacks in 2009. She was also known throughout the family as the go to person to get hair pressed and curled. She would put tight curls that would last for weeks. She loved to eat popsicles and freezer pops. Some of her hobbies were crocheting, cooking, shopping and watching sports. She enjoyed going to casinos, traveling, scratch offs and going on Facebook to screen shot pictures. Her favorite shows were “The Price is Right” and “Have and Have Nots”.
She accepted the Lord at a young age and became a member of First Christ Way under Pastor Derrick Cooper. Once she received the Lord she never looked back.
Constance E. Coleman was predeceased by: Siblings: Ruby M. Canty, Dorothy Sturgis, Loretta Butler, Marie Coleman, Robert Coleman Jr., Ronald Coleman, Leroy Coleman, Leon Richard Coleman, and Archie Coleman; Grandson, Sherron A. Coleman.
Constance E. Coleman leaves to mourn her passing and cherish memories to children: Leon Coleman, Sr. (Wendy) Blackwood, NJ, Renee Coleman (Camden, NJ), Tammie L. Coleman (Camden, NJ), Mark A. Coleman (Atlantic City, NJ), Richard A. Coleman (Dorothy) Camden, NJ, Ruby M. Coleman-Baker (Elijah) Camden, NJ, and Joan Douglas (Keith) Kaiserslautern, Germany; Two (2) Sisters, Emma Frances Coleman and Joanne Morris; Twenty Nine (29) grandchildren; Forty Seven (47) great grandchildren, One (1) great-great grandson; Two (2) special friends Sidney Holmes and Ms. Carol, and lots of relatives and loving friends.
