Chelsea was a one of a kind person. Everyone who knew her had a special connection with her. She bonded with people in a way that everyone felt like they were her best friend. She accepted and understood them in a way that many people don’t always know how to do. She always saw the best in people and was never shy to celebrate someone else’s achievements or accomplishments.
She was unique in a way that she soaked up the people around her from a little girl. Her father Richard Carlino influenced her passion to become a rescue worker and dream of being a nurse which unfortunately she was never able to do. He influenced Her desire to help people and willingness to get involved in tough situations. Her mother Cindy Carlino, who she is now reunited with in heaven, was the reason for her kindness, her empathy and her understanding of people’s struggles including her own. Her mother created Chelsea’s love for music and always made sure growing up she had all the CD’s and concert tickets she could, to keep her love for music going. Her younger sister Gabrielle Carlino, brought out her silliness, the freedom for her to be a complete goofball and not care what anyone else thought. Growing up, if they were in a room together no one else around them mattered but each other. They had a unique bond from experiencing trauma and darkness together that only each other could ever fully understand. They had a special connection that they knew even if they needed to have distance at times they the love they had for each other could never be broken.
Chelsea’s cousin Travis who she is also now reunited with in heaven was one of the greatest loves of her life some of her favorite memories were the summers they spent together and the ache from the loss of him created a struggle inside her that we are relieved she can finally be at peace from. Her taste in music and her undeniable obsession for Celine Dion and Mariah Carey came from her favorite Aunt Stacey which continued to her very last moments when Celine was played to comfort her.
Two of Chelsea’s biggest most important connections came from two people she met later in her life. Her past girlfriend Amanda, who showed Chelsea that no matter what she did or what she could become in life that she was worthy of love, that even in her worst, darkest times she could be loved. Even after they were no longer together they were able stay connected enough to make sure the other knew they were loved and deserved happiness. The second was her favorite most special connection in her life, Lily, Chelsea had many dreams and many avenues she wanted to peruse most that she unfortunately was unable to, but her biggest dream was to become a mother, and although she never was, she was able to have the experience of feeling like she was one. Her bond with lily was nothing short but magical. Lily saw something in Chelsea from the moment they met that made lily’s face light up like Christmas morning every time Chelsea walked into a room. Lily was able to see Chelsea for only the great, magnetic, kind hearted person she was without all of the other layers and nuances she had. If Chelsea was at her lowest the only thing that could make Chelsea get through it was Lily and their love. We are certain that she will forever be light and guide in Lily’s life even beyond this earth.
Because of all of these people and all of these influences, Chelsea left a mark on this world that will forever be remembered. But Unfortunately in life, not all experiences, influences, decisions and choices bring us to where we deserve or are worthy to be. Sometimes in life the trauma and pain that is created in us along the way create battles within ourselves that make us numb and unable to see our own potential and worthiness. Unfortunately Chelsea was one of those people, she was unable to win her battles with addiction, struggles within herself and somewhere along the way she lost her feeling of being worthy of getting helped and being loved.
Chelsea was a kind, yet troubled soul. She was complicated, she was a beautiful tragedy, and we know and our only comfort is that she finally has the peace she has always deserved in this life. We know she in heaven with her Mother, grandmother, cousin and all the friends she lost along the way, dancing, drawing her amazing artwork and watching over everyone she ever loved.
