Charles Kellam

November 21, 1945 — March 2, 2024

Harrisburg, PA & Camden, NJ

It is with great tenderness that we celebrate the life of Charles "Bucky" Kellam, a man whose spirit was as adventurous and vibrant as the melodies he strummed on his guitar. Born on November 21, 1945, in Salem, NJ, Charles' life was a symphony of love, laughter, and compassion. His jovial spirit and affectionate nature were a beacon for all who had the privilege of knowing him. Charles was a man of faith, who found solace and strength in the teachings of the Church Of God In Christ. He embodied the Christian ethos of love and service, as exemplified in Galatians 5:13, "Serve one another humbly in love."

Charles was a laborer by trade, spending his workdays in a furniture store, but his true passion was found in the simple pleasures of life. He was a skilled guitarist, a pool shark, and an avid car enthusiast. His laughter and funny stories were the heart of family gatherings, filling the room with warmth and joy. Whether he was serving his community, playing in the choir, or wrenching under the hood of a classic car, Charles lived his life with a rare blend of purpose and playfulness. His achievements, including earning his GED and being recognized for his community service, were testaments to his perseverance and dedication.

Charles is lovingly remembered by his children: Gloria Williams and his Son; his grandchildren: Quashan Thomas, Amaj Walker, Gakwan Williams, Semaje Walker, and Malaysia Williams; his siblings: Lucille Bell, Mary (Melvin) Chisholm, Solomon (Lisa) Kellam, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Kellam, and his siblings, James Jimmy Kellam, Minister Joseph Kellam (Elaine), Amos Kellam, Pleasant Kellam, Lavania Kellam, and Ruthann Clayton.
